It was off the back of a series of originals and remixes from the fabled Warung Brazil 001 compilation that first took the 16 Bit Lolitas to Anjunadeep as cuts such as the ruthless groover Murder Weapon brought Ariaan and Peter into the spotlight and their sounds into our headphones. This double A-side E.P. marks their long-awaited return and serves up another two slices of the finer side of prog house.
Kicking things off is Cold Energy; insistent, mesmerising basslines, tenderly resonating vocals and chilly atmospheres give this deliciously deep track a shadowy, twilight feel. The meandering Smoke Signals then proceeds to close the E.P. on a more minimal note with eight minutes of spine-chilling soundscapes and undeniably eerie melodies.
