The Flying Flea (Pou du Ciel literally "Louse of the Sky" in French) is a large family of light home built aircraft first flown in 1933.
The odd name comes from the French nickname for the Ford Model T automobile, "Pou de la Route" or "Louse of the Road" because Henry Ford's economy car was so common and initially came only in black. Henri Mignet dreamed of creating a Model T of the air, an airplane for the common man, hence "Pou du Ciel." In the English translation, the term became "Flying Flea." Originally applied only to the HM.14 model, the name has now come to describe the family of aircraft of similar configuration designed by Mignet and others.

Eyup mate, thanks again!! 'Tuther Flea is flown by Anthony Hill, built by his dad Tony. The pair are built exactly to 1/2 scale, materials, sections, profiles etc, using original copies of Mignet's book 'How to build a Flying Flea' from 1935. The Hills machine is a copy of Mignets Flea which toured the UK in 1935, mine is a replica of a Flea used by CWA Scots Flying Circus in 1935/6, sponsored by Bassetts of Sheffield, hence the Bertie Bassett 'Allsorts' livery, supposedly painted by William Heath Robinson. They both span 3m on the front wing, 2m on the rear. Both are powered by Zenoah 62 petrol engines, though mine has a copy of the Carden Ford Ten motor car engine as both the Zenoah mount and the exhaust. Control is just front wing incidence, rudder and motor, all connected up to the joystick and levers respectively. You'll have to nail the cameras on these pair next time, Nationals perhaps !!
