Here's how-to build your own Micro FPV racing drone!
These are great for flying indoors or close range outdoors.
I started with the Blade Nano QX. You solder the camera leads onto the main quad board, so the one main battery can power both the quad and camera same time. Hot glue camera to the front. (I'd recommend making sure your VTX is correctly synced with your FPV goggles before soldering.)
Racing around in FPV is a TON of fun - and it keeps getting better with time and practice. (I'm FAR from pro, but getting slightly better each time..)
In my tests with this setup, max TX range was 100 ft. Max VTX range was 250 ft. (The cool thing with these tiny micro FPV cams is you can attach them to almost anything! Let me know what other RC toys you'd like to see the FPV camera attached to.)
Stock battery life is pretty short, only a couple minutes. You'll want to buy an extra pack or two of spare batteries. (You can also swap out the stock motors for more powerful ones, I haven't done this yet, but looks pretty easy & sweet.)
You can also do this mod with the Blade Inductrix (aka "Tiny Whoop"):
All in (depending if you already have the FPV goggles/monitor), total price is only $100-200 for this fun project! Make sure you comment below if you try it!
