Steelseries Stratus XL Review - iOS Wireless game controller for AppleTV / iPhone / iPad / iPod

Buy it on Amazon - (affiliate link) First things first : this controller only works with iOS (iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad) and those devices must be on iOS 7 and above.
And the game you're playing must be written to support Apple's game controller API that this controller requires. Steelseries keeps a list of compatible games on their website. It does have some limited support for the Mac but it will not function on Windows or Android.
If you met all of the above iOS requirements this is a great game controller. It's about the size of an Xbox controller, considerably larger than their non-XL Stratus that is a bit tiny for larger hands. The XL is well built, very responsive, and does not appear to have any noticeable latency when playing supported games on an iPhone 6. It pairs up with the iOS device via Bluetooth without any issues.
I also like that it has a physical power switch and it runs on AA batteries. Many of my other game controllers (including the smaller Steelseries controller) have a built in battery that's non-replaceable. So it's nice to have one that always be ready provided a set of fresh AA's are available.
