Do you love to go to a French restaurant so you can order a big bowl of steamed mussels? What if I told you they take about as much time and effort to make at home as it does to place an order? Seriously. All you need is about 10 minutes and 3 pounds mussels, butter, shallot, garlic, white wine, and a little chicken broth, plus fresh parsley for garnish and some crusty bread to sop up the broth.

3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 shallot, cut into thin rings
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 cup white wine
3/4 cup low-sodium chicken broth
Coarse salt and ground pepper
