My biggest disappointment here is that there are no installable video apps like Netflix , Plex, TV tuning apps like HDHomerun, etc. It really is a perfect kitchen counter device but lacking the ability to easily watch the content I want dramatically reduces the usefulness for me.
That said this is a very competent Alexa device with some interesting concepts that Amazon is working into for what used to be a voice only interface. Song lyrics scroll by as music is playing, flash news briefings now include video reports from major networks, and of course buying stuff on Amazon now has pictures of products.
I am eager to see what the development community does with this extension to the Alexa / Echo platform.
