FISH AND CHIPS
Ingredients
4 medium pomfrets fillets
Oil for deep-frying
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Salt to taste
2 eggs
¾ cup dried breadcrumbs
½ cup refined flour (maida)
Black pepper powder to taste
Tartar sauce for serving
French fries for serving
Method
1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
2. Take fish fillets on a plate. Add lemon juice and salt and rub well from both sides.
3. Beat eggs in a bowl.
4. Spread dried breadcrumbs on a plate. Spread flour on another plate. Add salt and pepper powder and mix.
5. Coat each fish fillet in flour, dip in beaten egg and coat with breadcrumbs. Again dip in beaten egg and coat with breadcrumbs.
6. Put the prepared fish fillets in hot oil and deep-fry on medium heat till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
7. Serve hot with tartar sauce and French fries.
