Since 4K Ultra HD TVs were first introduced, the conversation has been about resolution – four times the resolution of 1080p HD TVs. But now Ultra HD means something more.
What does The S in SUHD stand for? Some like to think the S stands for ‘Super’, while others have suggested ‘Stylish’ ‘Special’ or ‘Samsung.’ In truth, the ‘S’ doesn’t stand for anything in particular.
The ‘S’ might not mean anything, but the improvements that come with that one letter are very real, and some think that they do more for UHD picture quality than resolution ever could. It all boils down to two new factors: High Dynamic Range, and Wide Color Gamut. But what does that all mean?
