On the evening of June 13, 2012, Disneyland Resort held a grand opening celebration for Cars Land on a stage in front of Radiator Springs at the Disney California Adventure theme park. The Rust-Eze band played to kick off the show, which included Disney President and CEO Bob Iger, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts chairman Tom Staggs, and Cars creator John Lasseter, along with many Cars voices and actors as well as Lightning McQueen and Mater. It all ended with a dance number and fireworks.
