Ol Kochu is one of Taro Root or Arum Root. We have called this taro locally as just 'OL'. This is one of the favorite and popular vegetables in our village. This vegetables can be cooked as ghonto, vorta, curry with fish, egg, chicken or any other vegetables or spinach. Also, This veg also can be cook itself.
This is one of the very tasty and delicious vegetable in village people as well as city people but most if city people don't know this vegetable and its recipe.
The scientific name of this vegetable is Amorphophallus paeoniifolius and English name is elephant foot yam (suran).
