Technology has come on a long way since John Barber invented the world’s first gas turbine way back in 1791. Three years later, Thomas Mead refined Barber’s idea and came up with the world’s first gas engine, and in the same year Robert Street introduced the concept of using liquid fuel, creating what we now recognize as the internal combustion engine. The same basic principles are still used in motor vehicles today, but amazing minds all over the world have introduced incredible ways of combining different fuels and mechanical parts to bring us truly wondrous creations.
