It might be the single greatest drain on the tech world's adjective supply. The HTC One launched last season as a sorely-needed comeback flagship - and contrary to the way these stories usually turn out, it succeeded in making its mark on the world. The company might still be a long way from financial health, but the product of its turnaround attempt is one of the most beautiful, most reliable, and most-complimented products in the smartphone world. Indeed, even we Negative Nancies on the Pocketnow team gave the One stellar marks on our dual reviews of the device - a sure sign that either we're getting soft in our old age, or the phone really is that good. (Spoiler alert: it's the latter.)
But that was five months ago. That's a whole lotta time in smartphone years - so much that our own Jaime Rivera was giving Verizon Wireless a hard time on a recent Pocketnow Daily for just now deigning to pick up the device. So with the One launching on America's largest network next week, and a glut of newer, shinier products littering the retail shelves of our nation (and the world), the question must be asked: is this device still worth buying?
Fortunately, that's just the type of question we created After The Buzz to answer. So kick back, loosen your tie, and pop open your favorite flavor of seltzer (or whatever); the HTC One is ready for its re-review. And it's gonna be hot.
