There is some definite potential here, especially if VR developers make use of the headset's ability to do room scale tracking without the need for external sensors.
The problem, of course, is that there's a lack of "killer apps" that make VR a must have item. Still for those looking to get a fully functional VR headset with room scale tracking this is a good entry point. Hopefully Google can entice more developers to release their apps and games on the Daydream platform.
